So, I'm still investigating a CMS (Content Management System) for the libraries web editors. A CMS is just a easy way to get content onto the web, without having to do much in the way of design. Blogger in some senses is a very primitive (primitive because it is limited in what it can do) CMS. Unfortunately, my quick and informal survey of web editors has yielded, ummm... not much. A lot of them still seem to use Dreamweaver and templates (our current setup), a few Contribute, and then every thing in the middle, including (shudder) FrontPage.As for myself, I am in a similiar situation.

Friday I went to this conference where the keynote speaker (Dr. Maddeus) essentially said that all of the folks in the audience were out of the loop and if we didn’t get with the technology we were going to miss the boat (!!). Anyhow, he started out the presentation with some very over the top Bill-n-Ted speak, to which I leaned over to K, and said, ‘dude, this is not going to be most excellent’ (which I meant in a very sarcastic way!)

Some people may know (or not know) that I've had a website since early 1996. My first website was a static html with light beige background and dark purple text. It was a 2 column page with a caption at the top. On the left was an image of one of my paintings; on the right was a 'welcome to my website...' kind of thing. The caption was just text (robinart) and at the bottom of the website was a little ani cat that ran from one side to another.

I realize that I have not posted in a while.
