How to disconnect twitter from facebook (and how to selectively tweet)

This post will cover 2 things: how to disconnect your facebook status from twitter and how to set up selective tweeting to facebook.Selective tweetingIn facebook, there is a great application called selective twitter status, which gives you control over which of your tweets go to facebook. Once you add selective twitter to your facebook account and link your twitter and facebook accounts together, all you do is tweet (post) to twitter but add #fb at the end. Selective twitter will then ONLY send those tweets with #fb to facebook. It works great, but...

Why use Twitter (and why I twitter)

Some time ago, I gave up on the notion that I could be an artist and have a completely private life. The thing with being an artist (musician, writer, painter, director, actor, etc...) is that you need fans. You need supporters. You need people to know about your artwork and support your artwork (both financially and intellectually). So, unless you have an agent working for you, you have to do this yourself. I think the same applies to organizations, businesses, etc. How do you stand out in a crowd?

Twitter verified accounts

I dunno, do I need this? I kind of feel like we all need to stake our digital identities firmly NOW, because the 'net is only going to be a more crowded space. From twitter:What does it mean?
With this feature, you can easily see which accounts we know are 'real' and authentic. That means we've been in contact with the person or entity the account is representing and verified that it is approved.

Biggest news in social media today --- Facebook + Friendfeed, and a little about Wowd)

If you haven't heard/read (and you don't follow my tweets -- georgiawebgurl@twitter), Friendfeed has been bought by Facebook. Read about it here and here.On another note, I asked for an invite for Wowd. I am interested to see how this will differ from StumbleUpon.

Twitter, facebook, and real time info in the face of tragedy

I'm not going to spend alot of time talking about the Athens shooting tragedy (plenty elsewhere) but I do want to comment on one thing that I found interesting. Before most of the info hit the news, very accurate accounts were going up on twitter and facebook. Additionally, when the license plate number was released as part of the manhunt (personhunt?) effort, that info quickly went out on twitter.
